Here’s the Story:
I’ve been doing some traveling around the country lately and I ran across a mind-boggling Foreclosure-Auction buying operation that looked like something out of a James Bond Movie. Seriously. I mean, you wouldn’t hardly believe it unless you saw it in action or heard it from the ‘horses’ mouth. (don’t worry, there’s a point to all this, I’ll get to it in a minute)

Anyway, about this crazy foreclosure auction brigade; You know how foreclosure auctions work right? You print out a property sheet, go look at a few houses, get to the courthouse and hope the bank’s not going to bid too high right?

Well when I was out West with a couple of friends of mine, I was witness to something totally different. For every bidder on the auction floor there were a dozen or more support staff frantically driving neighborhoods, checking records at the courthouse, banging keyboards at their computer ‘nerve center’, where hundreds of property records were being checked simultaneously just hours before the auction started…it would simply blow your mind if you saw all the sophistication that went into this thing. You’ve gotta see it for yourself.

Why all the last-minute rush in the final 3-4 hours before auction?

See, The banks drastically reduce their bid price just hours before the sale…and there’s no way for you to know which properties will be good deals and which ones wont’. There are hundreds of properties auctioned every day and you can’t look at all of them, so when the banks release their figures, this supper-techie foreclosure posse hits the streets, looks at properties, checks records, checks for liens and radio’s back to the guy on the auction floor how much to bid and on which houses.
